Community United Head Start & Day Care, Inc., as a community based agency will provide eligible families quality comprehensive services, training and support in a timely manner to meet individual needs. This organization is highly diverse with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We are dedicated to empowering families toward self-sufficiency by providing quality education, literacy, physical/mental health, social services and related support, in a safe atmosphere that fosters organizational cohesiveness with a commitment to those served.
Director's Statement
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Parent Policy Committee, Administrators and Staff, we welcome you into the Head Start family of Community United Head Start & Day Care, Inc.
More than 43 years ago, Community United Head Start began its journey toward stimulating educational challenges as a pilot project of Head Start in the Greater Cleveland area with the assistance of churches and neighborhood centers who opened their door to provide space for services to serve three year old children and their families
The goal today remains to assist families by providing resources and skills they need to become self-sufficient and provide their children with exciting, enchanting stimulating opportunities in a safe and healthy environment for a better future. We continue to support families with pursuing their “hopes and dreams.”
CUHS uses the High/Scope curriculum to guide instruction and provide a structure of activities and methods for classroom implementation leading to children’s acquisitions of the Head Start federally mandated outcomes. The goal for children’s learning incorporate the Key Developmental Indicators, which are aligned with the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards to provide meaningful early childhood experiences.
We continue to embrace the community served; and remain committed in providing quality services to make a difference in the lives of children and families. We are Community United Head Start and Day Care, Inc.
