Mission Statement
Community United Head Start & Day Care, Inc., as a community based agency will provide eligible families quality comprehensive services, training and support in a timely manner to meet individual needs. This organization is highly diverse with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We are dedicated to empowering families toward self-sufficiency by providing quality education, literacy, physical/mental health, social services and related support, in a safe atmosphere that fosters organizational cohesiveness with a commitment to those served.
Director's Statement
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Administrators and Staff, we extend to you a heartfelt welcome into the Head Start family of Community United Head Start & Day Care, Inc.
More than 41 years ago, Community United Head Start began its journey toward stimulating educational challenges as one of the four pilot projects of Head Start in the Greater Cleveland area under the umbrella of Council of Churches. With the assistance of churches and neighborhood centers who opened their doors to provide space for services to serve 400 3year old children and their families.
The goal was, and remains today to assist families by providing resources and skills they need to become self-sufficient and provide their children with exciting, enchanting stimulating opportunities in a safe and healthy environment for a better future.
Throughout the past 41 years, there are over 800,000 lives in our greater communities that have been touched by services delivered through Community United Head Start's child care services. It is because of staff that believes as a team committed to hope and working together, we can make a difference in the lives of people we serve. Then we are able to be a catalyst for change leading to a better tomorrow.
As we enter into 42 years of service, we look forward to continuing our efforts to provide quality services enhancing and preparing families and children for a better tomorrow.
This work will be a collective effort of Community United Head Start and its community partners embracing different perspectives and most of all, I absolutely believe in the development of children, therefore your support, time and energy is needed in order to give our valued children and families the tools and opportunities to reach their full potential they so richly deserve.
