How can I enroll my child into Head Start?
Call Community United Head Start at (216) 391-8333 ext. 119 and speak to the Family and Community Partnership Coordinator.
How old does my child have to be to enroll into Head Start?
The child must be at least three years old to enroll into the Head Start Program.
What documentation do I need to enroll my child into Head Start?
In order for your child to be enrolled in Head Start, you must have:
- The child's Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Medical Insurance Carrier
- Recent Immunization Record or Physical
- Parent proof of Income
What is the cost for my child to enroll into Head Start?
Head Start is a Federally funded program and does not require payment for our Double Session option.
What do you mean by Double Session option?
Our Double Session option is divided into an AM session and a PM session consisting of child initiated activities that run for 3 ½ hours in the morning and 3 ½ hours in the afternoon. These sessions are offered from Tuesday - Friday starting in September through June.
Do you have full day services?
Yes, we have full day services. We have a Federal/County Wrap that requires a voucher from the county and sometimes co-pay is required from the parent. We also have 74 slots that are 100% Federal funded by the government.
How can I be eligible for the 100% Federal funded full day services?
For our free full day services, a parent must be working at least 20 hours a week or be attending school for at least 12 hours a week.
How do you determine if you are income eligible?
Every year we receive a Federal Income Guide Line from the Federal government that determines of a family is eligible for Head Start by the gross annual income of the family and the size of the family.
What if a family's income is over the Federal Income Guide Line, can; a child still enrolls?
According the Performance Standards set by the Federal Government, a Head Start agency is allowed to except 10% of families that are over the Federal Income Guideline up to 200% of their gross annual income.
