Overview
Community United Head Start & Day Care, Inc depends on the help of volunteers to provide 20% of the annual budget. Each hour donated contributes to the strengthening the Head Start families that we serve.
Parent volunteers read to children in the centers. They participate in educational games to support the curriculum; assist the teaching staff with classroom activities and at field trips; serve on committees; and assist in other ways. Community persons volunteer their time in the classrooms; providing space for Head Start activities and programming; and volunteer their expertise to train staff and parents. Some community volunteers include: church groups, professional organizations, corporations, college students, librarians, social workers, fire and police officers; and lawyers. Doctors and dentist volunteer by providing services to the children free or at a reduced rate. Training for volunteers by program staff is on-going.
We need you!
